Possibly the first drink to be called a cocktail it is made of whiskey, bitters and soda water. It is served in an old fashioned glass, named after the drink.

method

  1. put suger cube in old fashioned glass and saturate with bitters and a dash of soda water.
  2. muddle the ingredients until they dissolve.
  3. fill the glass with ice cubes and add whisky.
  4. garnish with orange slice, lemon twist and two maraschino cherries.
