Invented by Mr. Ngiam Tong Boon for the Raffles Hotel in Singapore sometime between 1910 and 1915. It is considered their signature drink. At some point it fell into disuse such that the official recipe served at the hotel had to be created from memory by bar staff and notes they discovered.
